George Marbuah is a Research Fellow at Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI).
For SSFC, George works on innovative research ideas related to projects on sustainable finance in scaling-up available development capital in developing countries to achieve the sustainable development goals (SDGs) and meeting targets set forth in the Paris Agreement.
George worked as a post-doctoral research fellow at the Department of Economics, Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (SLU) in Uppsala prior to joining SEI. At SLU, he worked mainly on policy-oriented empirical research. He is particularly interested in the intersections of development economics, environment, natural resources management, and energy. Questions of economic growth and macro-fiscal policy in resource-rich countries in sub-Saharan Africa in particular and developing economies in general are also of particular interest to him.
George holds a PhD in Economics from SLU.
